Keeping Your Caravan Tidy

Owning a touring caravan is a nice way to guarantee you get away from all of it once in a while. For many however, every so often means each weekend, bank holiday and any other spare time there not at work. You may possibly already see the upside to this getting away often, however till you truly to take action and start touring a lot you might not see the down aspect fairly as easy.

Living from a caravan for 2 or more days a week often means you will never be emptying the van contents at the finish of a trip, it won't take long however befire your caravan gets filled with the everyday living items. Spending so much time in such a tiny confined space and not removing all the junk is going to get out of hand and soon enough and you may hear your self say "we do not have enough space” or “we need a much bigger caravan”. Before you rush out and buy that new caravan, I've tried to list here a few of the easy steps I have done to enable us to keep the caravan tidy.

The first thing you should do would be to have a look at that tiny excuse for a closet and give it a big makeover. It won’t cost much and shouldn’t take too much of your time to complete, but by purchasing a number baskets, a hanging organizer as well as a shoe tidy rack it is possible to create three times the useable storage space in standard size caravan closet. Check to find out how far the closet actually goes back and consider what method of storage could be good back there, maybe wet weather clothes that aren’t used on daily basis or those extra blankets you retain for all those extra cold nights.

Next, get creative and think outside of the box (or caravan in this instance). Caravans have many little hidden spaces just waiting to be used in a much more efficient way. For example, just consider the space used by the shower cabinet then consider how often you actually use that space. It will never be more than once per day and even less if you are close to the shower block on the camp site, and then the shower stands empty for the remainder of the time. Consider some buying some removable racks or hanging organisers for that area.

This last step I have to mention is never a popular one but it really must be said. The best strategy to making more room inside you caravan will be to get rid of the things you don’t use. You may often see things inside a caravan that the owners will openly admit don't have any real use for but don’t know what else to do with it. The answer is simple, throw it away, or you could store it inside your house along with all the other stuff you don't know what to do with, but thats another story. Go through your clothes in that tiny closet and keep only what you use often and be ruthless, remember you don’t need two to three outfits for every day. You'll be amazed at the amount of space you have got after a relentless possession purge. One thing I would like to say here is a bit of a warning, when trying to de-clutter your possessions you should never do it alone, you are not strong enough!

Those are just a few of the simple steps you need to do to start getting a tidy caravan and keeping a caravan tidy but there are many more. The great thing about people that use their caravan regularly is that they know how to maintain it neat and tidy. They have spent years discovering how to get igneous with small areas and it doesn't matter what they need they can always find it. Can you say a similar thing about your caravan?
